Yousef Ali Hassan Al-Masri
Yousef Ali Hassan Al-Masri is a nurse from Gaza who has remained committed to serving his community despite the challenges of war and unemployment.
After completing secondary school in 2018, he enrolled at Al-Israa University to study nursing. Throughout his education, he worked various jobs to support himself and finance his studies, graduating in 2022 before obtaining his professional nursing license.
When the war began in October 2023, Yousef immediately volunteered at Nasser Medical Complex, where he worked in the Complex Fractures Department, caring for injured patients under extraordinarily difficult conditions. He continued serving until the hospital was evacuated in December 2023 due to the escalating conflict.
In May 2024, he returned to Nasser Medical Complex to volunteer once again, this time in the Surgery Department. Despite the demanding workload and the critical need for healthcare professionals, his work remained entirely voluntary, without a salary or employment contract. When the volunteer program was later suspended, he once again found himself without formal employment.
Today, although he remains unemployed, Yousef continues to seek every opportunity to practice the profession for which he has worked so hard. His commitment to nursing has never wavered, and he hopes to continue serving his community with compassion, professionalism, and dedication whenever the opportunity arises.
