Maysaa Abdulkarim Ikky

Maysaa Abdulkarim Rasheed Ikky is a nurse from Gaza who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2021. She is also the mother of three young children.

After completing her studies, Maysaa hoped to begin her nursing career. However, employment opportunities were scarce, and when one finally became available, she had recently given birth to twins with weakened immune systems who required constant care. As a result, she postponed her professional ambitions to care for her family.

The outbreak of war brought further hardship. Her home was completely destroyed, forcing her family into displacement and adding new challenges to daily life. Despite these personal losses, Maysaa has remained committed to serving her community.

Today, she works part-time in a dental clinic while also volunteering at a local medical point, providing essential healthcare services to people with limited access to medical care. She continues to pursue her profession with compassion, resilience, and the hope of building a better future for her family and her community.
